Nichol's Roy Bible College

Rev. Dr. S.D. Kharmawphlang
Qualapatty, Shillong – 793002
Meghalaya, India.

The Nichols-Roy Bible college (NBC) began as a dream of Late Rev. J.J.Nichols-Roy, who was one among the founding leaders of the Church of God Movement in Meghalaya & Assam (India) for the purpose of providing ministerial training in order to promote the Gospel message & to prepare leaders for churches and the Christian community.

In 1970, an informal Theological Training was started under the keen initiative taken by Rev. Borman Roy Sohkhia. In 1982, formal classes were conducted and the name of the school was the J.J.M. Nichols-Roy Bible School. In 1990 the school was closed for reflection, re-organization and reconstruction.

In 1991, the Pastors' Fellowship of the Church of God, Meghalaya and Assam which is the Administrative Body which looks after the spiritual & doctrinal aspects of the church, took a bold decision to re-open the Theological Training programme by upgrading the J.J.M. Nichols-Roy Bible School to the college level. The name of the school was changed to Nichols-Roy Bible College and it was officially inaugurated on 12th June, 1992, by Rev. Dr. I Ben Wati a Baptist Minister from Nagaland who is a well known church leader in North East India, and around the world and Rev. Dr. Leaderwell Pohsngap became its first Principal. The College was opened on the above mentioned date with a view to commemorate the 108th Birth Anniversary of Late Rev. J.J.M. Nichols-Roy.

Nichols-Roy Bible College (NBC) is totally supported and sponsored by the Church of God, Meghalaya & Assam (India). The Church called this college "The Journey of Faith". The college sees itself as the handmaid of the Universal Church of God.
